I’d go optimized media and better performance in playback settings. Sounds more like bandwidth than memory.

Could be a driver issue with the hub or the drive- doesn’t necessarily sound FCPX centric.

Try opening it in Motion first to make sure it’s good.

You should select the drive itself at the root to pick up the Project/Event folders at the root, unless they’ve already been updated. Selecting them wouldn’t make any sense because you need the pair in order to successfully not update- not one level deep into each. If that doesn’t work, nest them into a new folder saved at the root of the drive and select that from the update dialogue.

FCPX is definitely not transitioning to a subscription model.

Just a suggestion but are you aware of the Angle Editor- which would let you arrange the clips into lockable ‘tracks’ and provide you full access to one of the better features of X: multicam.

No it doesn’t but it’s also pretty reliable anyway. But you could set this up as Disk Images directly in the Disk Utility if you’re concerned.

Not really- renders are best for previews of complex compositions where you lose too many frames in the real-time preview- which is determined by the power of your GPU and the complexity of the compositions. If the R/T preview is fine for the work, don’t bother to render and just do the whole thing as a Share at the end.

Yeah sounds like you probably messed up the database someplace with all of the finder action and switching between versions. I’d recommend moving up to 10.1.1. Send a screenshot of your root drive directory.

I don’t quite understand what specific function you need in wavelab that you’re not finding in FCPX? Are you talking about a normalization of levels or something else?
