Not sure if you figured this out but make sure in the conform settings tab that the “assist using” button is NOT selected.

After a couple media manager tricks still nothing will make the xml work. I just exported an EDL instead of the XML and that is working. I guess thats what I’ll have to do from now on.

I’m suspecting something is happening when the editors commit their multi cam edits and something wrong makes it’s way into the XML. EDL’s must be too simple to fail in this case.

For this edit it’s all 23.98. The only difference is going from HD to 2k.

Frame rates aside why would the master clips not be as long as the quicktimes they are connected to?

Everything is usually Alexa at 23.98 and the relink is usually just from LUT’d pro res to 444 Log

  • John – So local grades will follow a clip when creating the handles timeline?

Chris – Pretty much every shot has 2 or 3 nodes of tight tracking so I can’t do the auto handles in the delivery page. I do wish Resolve would do some kind of auto keyframe where it just continues the direction of the last keyframe. I imagine everyone else wants that too and it’s way too difficult to engineer.

    Thanks Fred.

Yeah the idea is I need to strip out all the speed effects of a music video in preparation of it’s online and I’m not sure on the fastest way. This should help but if anyone knows a faster way that would be great.

No, the speed effects are speed ups so I want the timeline to extend as the edit for the sped up shot is lengthened after bringing it back to normal speed.

    Thanks Fred.

And if I matchframe back the in and out in the source monitor should match all the frames used in the motion effect right?

I must be doing something wrong. I can ripple to the right 10 frames to lengthen the tail of the edits but if I ripple to the left to extend the edit 10 frames at their heads it just undoes my ripple to the right.

What do I do? Ripple the tail out 20 frames and then slip 10?

This is great thank you! I’m guessing I can use the same tool to remove the handles too and bring it back to the duration of the original edit
