    YES! This totally works.

Just be sure to draw the mask on the layer that isn’t being resized or repo’d and you’re good.

    Thanks

Here is a quick reference of what we’re talking about for people who want to do something similar but would describe it differently.

Same grade. Same shot. Same timecode. Different position and scaling.

    7.0.3

I just exported my Window’s Resolve project and imported it into a Resolve install on the Mac I’m trying to import the XML into. Unfortunately all my source media is local to the Window’s system so the XML the Mac Resolve exported didn’t have anything in it so hopefully that didn’t skew the test but it did import that XML into FCP no problem.

No one has ever had with this? I’ve had it with every Windows Resolve project I’ve done so far.

For Final Cut 7 and I’m using the “.xml” not one of the “.fcpxml” extensions.

Oh I’m sorry for not explaining myself better. I meant that the XML is greyed out when in FCP when you go to File>import>XML.

Basically I can’t get XML’s from DaVinci to go into Final Cut Pro. I have done it from Mac DaVincis countless times.

    Thanks for the responses.

I figured it was my card but was hoping not since it seemed to jump to 21fps very quickly and never stutter with no grades applied. I just finished grading an intense music video and ended up with an average of 10 to 14fps.

For my motherboard I have a GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R and an i7 930. There are 2 16x slots and 2 8x slots. Currently both cards are in the 16x slots and the intensity is in the 1x slot.

Looks like I’m gonna have to save up for a 580.

Both drives have about 90 read and write which should get me smooth playback of a DNX 36 MXF I would imagine. I even tried an external Lacie drive over e-SATA and it just shoots right up to 21 and holds.

So Enhance Tech took care of everything for me! I sent them my whole RAID though, card, cables, chassis with drives but they took care of everything from there. They figured out that my chassis wasn’t clicking with my card due to a generation thing between new card and an old chassis. Since newegg doesn’t push many SAS enclosures the one I got from there was old. Anyways Enhance was great and emailed me multiple times a day from a real person with updates. I’m still mad at Highpoint but hey Enhance gives beyond great service so no need to talk to HPT ever again.

Really? I knew playing with the cables helped but getting a different brand?

I have tried to get them as straight as possible and not touching any other wires and still no go. Perhaps I’ll try a bit more.

Got the card and it didn’t sell on ebay so I tried to create a RAID again with it. It fails when initializing a RAID 5 and the RAID 0 stripes and gets formatted by OS X but the cards freezes after a bit of transferring. Ugh!

It is split bus. They said the Areca 1680 would work as well. I think they are mainly pro Rocketraid. The card I just got from the RMA is on ebay and if it doesn’t sell I’m gonna try and re install it and hopefully recreate my RAID. If that doesn’t work then I am screwed
