  • Scaling only on a node

I was wondering if zooming in on an image can be specific to a node and not global to the entire shot across all the nodes. I would like to be able zoom in on and pan around an image and have it underneath another version of itself not scaled but with a power window drawn acting as a mask to reveal the scaled image underneath. I would use this for removing random grip equipment and what not.

    Is this possible in Resolve?

it is not possible insidse a node.

but you could build layers of the same take in the conform room. then make
versions (i believe you can make versions with different zooms). then add
in the color room your masks and the alpha output! (right click in the node view – add alpha
    output or similar)

    YES! This totally works.

Just be sure to draw the mask on the layer that isn’t being resized or repo’d and you’re good.

    Thanks

Here is a quick reference of what we’re talking about for people who want to do something similar but would describe it differently.

Same grade. Same shot. Same timecode. Different position and scaling.
