Oh right, do you think it’s too late to fix it then?

To be honest i don’t actually know how I find all that information out… I am a bit of a beginner to all this. I don’t really know what codec’s and frame rates are! I don’t suppose you could give me an ‘idiots guide’ to finding that stuff out?

Thanks for the response Tom. I am working on Final Cut Pro 5. The footage I have been editing is from a basic hard drive video camera (MPEG movie files). I exported as a quicktime movie. I have tried adding the deinterlace filter to the sequence but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference. The lines appear both when watching on the computer and the TV…

Do you know how I might be able to fix this?

Oh ok. I wasn’t aware it was illegal to use software that came on a second hand laptop. As far as I know it is a genuine copy and the guy who I bought it from (on ebay) lost the discs..

I don’t suppose you could just tell me whether it is actually possible to do what I want to do without compressor? If so then I will give up! The film I need to get on to DVD is a wedding which I need to have finished by the end of next week. Is there somewhere else online where I might be able to get some useful info?

    Thanks

Unfortunately the rather annoying thing is my compressor does not work! I have tried on and off for the past year to get it working but have been told that the only way to fix it is to re-install it, but I can’t do that as I don’t have the original discs (I bought the mac second hand and it came with final cut already installed)

I don’t suppose you know of a different method of doing this, using another program?

    thanks

yep still not got it working! came to the conclusion that the only way to fix it would be to uninstall and install the whole thing again but I can’t do that as I don’t have the original disks…

    oh yes ofcourse, thanks!

i need to compress the file to fit onto DVD (its currently 5.14GB). I have compressor but it, for some reason, has never worked.

Do you know of any other programs that I could use to compress the file?

    Thanks for the response.

I want to be able to play it from DVD. My Compressor, for some reason, doesn’t work. Is their any other way of exporting it, as a file that might shrink it to 4.7gb?
