I am trying to export a quicktime file, and although I click ‘make self contained movie’ it still saves as a final cut pro file… Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem!

    cheers, James

That is the default. It can be changed to QuickTime. Go into get info and choose open with.

It is a QuickTime movie. It will work in any QuickTime compatible application. The only difference is the creator type is Final Cut so it defaults to opening in FCP. At least that’s the case in older versions of the application.

    All the best,

    oh yes ofcourse, thanks!

i need to compress the file to fit onto DVD (its currently 5.14GB). I have compressor but it, for some reason, has never worked.

Do you know of any other programs that I could use to compress the file?

    James

I can’t believe you still didn’t figure out. Definitely operator error.

yep still not got it working! came to the conclusion that the only way to fix it would be to uninstall and install the whole thing again but I can’t do that as I don’t have the original disks…
