Got it now. I had to uncheck the remove pulldown check box upon ingest. Any idea why this was? I don’t really understand pull down see this unanswered thread,

Thanks Ben but this doesn’t work for me. It goes 10 frames ahead not one second hence the need for the question. I have found that control p then 3 period does indeed move the skimmer (or playhead not sure what to call it in the Browser) but only from the beginning of the clip. So if I watch half a clip, set an in-point then control – p 300 the playhead moves three seconds from the beginning of the clip AND NOT 3 second from my inpoint. So I’ll have to stick with “control-D”, then “3 period” to change the duration of my selection to 3 seconds.

Why did Apple change the Shift – Right arrow to 10 frames from 1 second? Makes no sense to me!

Well I just laid a clip down to the timeline an the levels are back to normal. But when I play that clip from the browser they are peaking? Wierd

Hi there, I’ve just noticed something on some FCPX training videos I downloaded from Larry Jordan. When I play the files in Quicktime or iTunes on my desktop they are slightly cropped. When I play on my iPad they are fine or using VLC on my desktop, again no problems. They are 720 h.264 files. I’m sure they were made with Compressor or FCP

Any ideas? I’m using Quicktime 10.1 and OSX 10.7.2

Do you think this is related I have time machine backups.

I’m responding to this in the hope that someone might answer my query. I know it’s basic stuff that may take a while to explain but I’m a bit confused over this any help much appreciated.
