Same question but with a HV30 and FCP 7.

Just bought a Firewire 400 cable to Firewire 800 cable, but don’t have access to the work station right now. If that cable doesn’t work, does that mean I’m out of luck as far as capturing directly into FCP goes?

That makes sense. Does it follow that rendering the video in the 1080p project setting in CS4 does that de-interlacing?
And I take with canon’s system, I don’t lose any quality when converting to progressive since the two frames should be identical?

Thanks, I was looking to install some of my Avid codes from PPro 1.5, but I found them in AME under quicktime…
Still just for grins, how would I add them to Cs4 if the need arises?

Thanks for the advice… I guess I’m just used to “rolling my own” and this media encoder with presets and all is throwing me for a loop.
I know I had it in 1.5 but never used it… guess I have to now.

Thanks, found that, but there doesn’t seem to be any HDV export options like on PPro1.5… searched help, and all that seems to say is that you can do it, but not details as to how.
