This is driving me nuts. I’ve been using PPro cs4 ever since it came out. Not an expert with it by any means but had no problem doing the basic nuts and bolts editing with several video and audio tracks my projects required.

Up until a couple of months ago, putting audio wav files where I wanted them was a no brainer. I believe mp3 files worked too, but wouldn’t swear TO IT.

Now, I have to jump through all kind of hoops and the only way I can get stand alone audio on a track is to delete all audio tracks and drag my wav files on the first edit.

Once I’ve laid video, forget it.

I must have changed some setting or something, but nothing I’ve tried allows me to move audio around anymore, or even get it too the timeline.

Projects are HDV (and now XDcam based ) if that makes any difference.

    Any pointers appreciated.

    Hey Jack…

typical problems are mismatch between stereo or Mono sources and track destinations.

Once audio is on the timeline, dragging and trimming can be hindered by the mix mode your track is set to (clip for track).

    Hope that helps…
