Hey I figured it out! Just be sure to capitalize JPG when you save it back to the card! Cheers!

The keystroke Automator idea sounds great! Is there a way I could turn this into a third party plugin for premier that would do this automatically? Say, I put marker points around where I want it to skip and the plugin tells it to skip over those parts in playback. Would this work? Would I have to do any coding to make the plugin?

the only thing you can do is transform the image so it fits the screen.
just go into the effects tab and click the arrow by the motion tab and then click the transform tab and then use the scale tab to scale the image.

or just double click the footage and scale it up just like you would do in Photoshop.

There are 3 ways you could do this.

    1. when you put the clips next to each other leave some space between the clips and that will give you that black bar.

    2. you could make a black solid in premiere and just lay it over the two clips that you want split screened. Then just use transform to look the way you want it to.

    3. put the clips side by side and apply the crop effect to both clips and apply a crop to that side of the image for both clips.
