Thanks. Means that the Apple engineers made my life harder thinking they were making it easier. There should have been a window coming up asking me if I wanted to apply the transition to all the selected clips. I think this is a stupid change in FCP 7

Thanks, but isn’t there a way to let FCP just do the transition on the place where my CTL is positioned?? It happens to me often that I find out much later that the transition has been applied to all the selected clips. Then I have to undo a lot of things. It’s a hassle!!

Thanks for the info Marti. Funny thing is that I visited someone else using FCP and when I connected the Lumix to his computer and he opened the L&T window, immediately the clips showed up. He didn’t even have to look for it! But I’m certainly going to look at Toast 10!

Thanks William; that clarifies a lot. One more question: did you do the tranferring straight from the camera or from a card reader? Might there be any difference there?

I am not on my compter now but I did try to open it from alk the folders higher up, like with P2. But iget the sam message all the time

Well, I don’t know what else to mention. I downloaded a trial version of Cineform’s Neoscene and that works. With Neoscene I went to the folder called STREAM and there I opened files with the extension .MTS. The camera is the Lumix DMC-GH 1K. Does that clarify anything?
