I use DVCPRO HD 720p footage in a PAL widescreen comp. I scale it down to 51 percent enad move it. It looks all blocky. But the quick time file is sharp and OK. What am I doing wrong??

Just to make sure: settings are all set to full quality and best settings. Graphics are sharp, live footage looks blocky, even with all effects off.

Are you sure it’s not the draft-quality preview you get when you enable Pixel Aspect correction?

Yes, it is also viewable on my video monitor. Also rendered it and the problem is in the rendered movie as well. Looked in the interpret footage window and there too every setting looks the way it should. It’s so strange

One more thing: I put the footage in a DVCPRO HD 720 composition. Same problem

Do you have a small sample clip you could upload to a file hosting service?

Meanwhile I found a workaround. I exported the clips from FCP in Pro Rez 4:2:2 and now they look OK in AE
