  • Hmm I’m guessing it’s on the Photoshop side because I still get the error. I installed CS4 and it doesn’t work there either.

  • I tried all of your suggestions. I still get the error in Photoshop when just importing a cube or in 3ds file.

I deleted my preference file, but it still gives me an error whenever I try to put any Knoll LF FX in my composition. I already tried reinstalling it, and that didn’t work either.

Your computer: Windows 7 x64, Intel Celeron 925 @ 2.3 GhZ, 3 GB RAM, 70 GB available on HDD.
Your version of After Effects: 10.0.10.4
The media container (avi, qt, etc.) and the codec of your footage: WMV Raw, and MOV Sorenson Video 3
Whether you’re trying to use multiprocessing or not: I haven’t touched any settings about multiprocessing so I’m guessing no.
Whether you’re trying to use Open GL when rendering or not: I don’t know how to find this out. Same as above.
The method you used to install the Knoll plugins: I installed the trial then activated it.
Any third-party codec packages you’ve installed: Not to my knowledge.

Thank you very much! Although, this still didn’t solve the problem I’m having. Is there a way to ‘force’ a new set of particles to set at a certain point?

I’m a little confused on what exactly is going on with the picture. I’m assuming the picture below the post is a still image of a video, correct?

If so, it seems like the only option you have is to zoom in on the rock, use the pen tool to mask around the rock, and then motion track (probably using the balloon-thing as the tracking point). As for the lights coming out of the rock, I would use Knoll Light Factory or something similar and then put that where the lights are (maybe add some masking depending on whether or not the lights are behind it.).

August 4, 2011 at 11:54 pm in reply to: How Do I Keyframe a Clip’s Position?

Thank you for trying, but what I meant was how do I set a keyframe for the position of a clip. I was wanting to be able to have clip2 of a pretty small size and move it around to various positions in clip 1.

For example, let’s say I had a video (which I’ll call video1) of me walking through a kitchen. I want to be able to keep clip2’s position next to the toaster the whole time.

I was wanting to use motion tracking to do this, but it didn’t work out due to bad lighting.
