Am I to understand that you have a similar setup to the one I have except a different switch? What switch in particular did you purchase?

The RAID unit by itself is capable of capturing video without a problem. I do believe the issue lies in the network as you folks have stated.

My fault – I am using a static Ip address system.

As i stated in the other forum, I am using an unmanaged switch from Netgear. I am using no special software on the network side. All of my computers use DHCP. If there are any other areas I am omitting, please tell me and I will inform you.

I have a custom raid box that I filled with drives myself. I seem to be missing something because I just cannot understand why if there is a sustained transfer rate that well exceeds the DV minumum why I would not be able to capture DV media. Here is the error I mentioned:

As I have already stated, there is plenty of bandwidth. I had sustained speeds in excess of 60mb/s. I am just doing DV. I thought of your workaround and am working with that now, however for the long term, I do not want to do this. I would like to resolve this so I can digitize full 1 hour tapes without any issues. On my next post, I will give you a screen shot of the error.

I have an external raid connected to an Xserve which then serves out the data over AFP. Right now, I only have 1 client for testing purposes.
