But then you have to add another layer and designate it as “behind” which gets confusing. Someone should make a tutorial, but no one cares about FCPX.

Isn’t there a way to do it by setting track mattes or luma mattes to a layer within FCPX?

I too am making my first step to move away from Final Cut. I am having the same problem. This is not a good start Adobe Premiere! I am not very happy with you. I can’t even start a project???

Look up “infographics” and yo will find companies that animate this way a lot. I think they use Illustrator highly to animate vectors however I haven’t found any good tutorial links so far. Let me know if you find any..

I actually have enough experience to know ahead of time that I will come up with something that will look good for the background. I guess I was just hoping someone would say, “You should check out this plug-in”, or “instead of using the “paint/write on effect for your spinning chocolate vector swirls, try this…” . I was being broad with my explanation because I wanted the community to look at my idea broadly. The client is expecting some sort of chocolate background to replace the green screen background I shot the chocolate bar product shot against. I’ve done some cool stuff with spinning vectors in the past, but it is sooooo time consuming. That is what I would like to avoid.

Yes. You are correct. I have a separate connection for each drive.
If anyone can suggest an inexpensive 8 port that would be great (if they make one in PCI-E), or if yall have any other suggestions, such as an inexpensive 4 external port, or other alternatives I might look into that would be great. I’m a little behind on drive technology, so any suggestions would be great.
