Not sure what the exact problem is but does it improve if you take the external out of the picture and copy locally?
Are you copying using the OS or XDCAM Browser/Clip Browser? If it’s one of the latter, the Verification process adds some overhead and will increase copy time.
Also, copying 100 small clips equaling 32 GB will take much longer than copying 32 1 GB clips. Do you have a lot of very short clips?

the 50 Mb codecs are 50 Mb CBR, 422. the ones that are tagged simply ‘XDCAM HD’ are 35 Mb VBR, 420. but both should work on a blank disc (discs have no codec restrictions until after the first file is written)..

That the file originated on a Mac should not make any difference. More than likely there is something wrong with the file, either because it was not rendered out using the right template or because of corrupt data. if it was a file naming issue (most common reason for this kind of thing) the 2nd file would have failed, and the first one would have failed instantly rather than after getting halfway through the process. The only other ‘gotcha’ I can point to is if the file is 720/50p or 720 60p it must be an even # of frames or the disc will reject it. I would check the original file in XDCAM Transfer and make sure that you see the correct codec and audio info in the INFO area. If you can’t get anywhere with it and want to send me a file or some screen grabs let me know..

Are you placing the file in the CLIP directory? The other folders are restricted (except for USER DATA and GENERAL but those are for generic data storage).

The Advanced Pack is geared more towards optical XDCAM workflows and includes support for live logging, XMPilot and planning metadata. Some of the legacy features of Clip Browser (printable shot logs, acquisition metadata display panel) were also bundled into the pack. Note that it does not include the Main Concept codecs for converting EX– this is a separate option.

Is it available from the FILE menu? If you try to open Browser in standalone mode from /Applications or from your dock, does it open correctly? If not, you should try reinstalling Browser. If it does, delete both the Browser and FCP preference files.

The two applications can usually coexist peacefully on the same machine. What exactly is the issue?

Can you try XDCAM Browser? I believe this is because of new metadata that is added to the files after 1.20 firmware F3 is installed but we are still investigating whether this is the case. XDCAM Browser (the replacement for CB, which is discontinued) should be able to play and manage these clips without issue. https://www.sony.com/xdcam-downloads

In your post you said this was happening with CB 2.0/2.6 but not with XDCAM Browser. Can you confirm?
To save a System Profiler report: Apple Menu–>About This Mac–>More Info. This will open the System Profiler. Note that on certain Lion Machines you may have to first click ‘System Report’ in the basic System Info window that pops up. From within the System Profiler select File–>Save and save a copy in the Sys Pro XML format (not as a text file). You can also access System Profiler from your Utilities folder. This will provide a snapshot of your system.
