  • how is the time code set on the camera? if it’s set to regen/record run it should remain continuous. also make sure you are running FCP 7.0.3. this build fixed a number of issues with AVCHD files.

Content Browser is a newer version of XDCAM Browser. You highlight a directory in one of the explorer windows and with that folder selected go to File–>Import. I have written this up on the COW several times so try doing a search if you need a step by step. Or you can call it into support. 800 883 6817.

most likely you are looking at a UDF formatted card without the UDF driver installed. without it the card will mount and appear normally but it will be read-only and transfers will be very slow. https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/sxsudfdriver

  • i would uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them starting with the device driver, then the UDF driver. there are known issues if you install them in the reverse order.

Here is the Mavericks Device Driver for SxS (only required when using the Express Card slot)

CB with this driver should be fine. Make sure there are no old/incompatible FAM or USB (PDW-U1/U2) drivers on the system. Also try the usual steps of a permissions repair and trashing any .plist files the application may have left behind from previous versions.

May 22, 2014 at 10:25 pm in reply to: NXCAM workflow on Adobe Premiere CS6 on a Mac?

The ‘official’ workflow is not Windows-centric although the free utility we provide (which you do not need for import into Premiere, FCP, Avid or Vegas) is Windows-only…

With CS6 you can import using Premiere’s built-in Media Browser. Spanned clips (long recordings made of multiple consecutive 2 GB files) are supported and will be joined on import.

You should not have any issues or surprises but feel free to contact our support office at 800 883 6817 or post any Qs you have here.

    Cheers and enjoy..

Sony Pro in CA. They’ll charge 2 hrs labor (135 x 2 = 270) and will do a lens alignment and function check afterwards. Call it in to support or email me and we’ll get you the paperwork. 800 883 6817. Turnaround time is a few days, less if you have an urgent ETA in which case we can schedule you.

you should update. you are at too low a version to do it yourself so it would have to go to Sony. afterwards you’ll be able to install updates on your own.
