Alright, thanks again guys. I did the PIP and fitting everything to HD right off the bat, so that’s good.

How about a second question if you’re just finding this thread.

Song choices? I’ve read that a lot of people lay a simple beat/loop down through the entire 50 seconds, whilst some people use modern day hits. The latter puzzles me because isn’t this copyright trouble?

Thanks again to the great Cow community.

Ah damn. Answer this if you want, but I just noticed the Demo Reel forum. 😛

    My apologies.

Perhaps my expected standards of education are a bit too high and unrealistic. 😛

Probably depends on the college/university offering the degree as well. I’m down in the bootheel of Missouri and the equipment is less than impressive. Your professors might be excellent teachers, but if the administration is too stingy to provide the proper tools for learning, then I’d say it’s a must that you educate yourself outside of class while you’re at it. Go learn today’s trends in addition to outdated ones the course provides.

Ironically our university marketing department just made a huge purchase on HD cameras, computers, and LED light kits, whilst our TV/Film students still fiddle with standard definition/tape based equipment.

I don’t have enough experience to know if a large part of the industry still heavily relies on tape-based functionality, but I feel as though we’re being left in the dust.

Just be sure to account for that, IMO.

In terms of equipment, do you know which HD cam they tend to use the most? I’m assuming for portability it could be some kind of Panasonic, but I’m just curious.

What are the standards as of 2011?

And if you do reshoot anything, be sure to pay attention to shutter speeds. That too will affect slowmotion playback.

    Read this first:

I can see truth to bringing in “unfriendly” sound formats. I usually drop MP3’s into AE, and the pitch shift occurs.

Try that out and if not, let us know.

    Best of luck!

    Thanks!

I’ve been “googling” this all night and I couldn’t seem to find answers anywere.

I will now be using this on a daily basis.

However, you wouldn’t happen to know the reason behind NOT including a feature like that? I was kind of hoping an Adobe Rep would see this and give me a straightforward explanation.

    Thanks again!

4GB RAM on a Intel Core2 Duo, 1GB Nvidia Graphics card blah blah, 2.13GHz processor.

It’s pretty standard…and I used to be able to exit properly. Not anymore these days, apparently.
