    Dave

    Thanks so much…appreciate.
You were retired now you are not….guess u got bored …. smile…
Thanks for the tip about Avid.

Seems the current system they use is HTML 5. The system they we pay for each month.

The boat load of storage is a very good point….storing 12 hrs. of streaming video.
Nice about Avid what you write. Yes, does sound very cool.
    Really great.

    Thanks for your answer.

    Warmly, Hope

    I see now, ok, hello….

    ….it is a DVD ROM

that makes more sense to me now….its not a dvd that one puts in a dvd player. Will find a friend w a G5 Mac, maybe it will work.

Thank you all for all your help you guys…and best of luck on all your projects. Checked out Andrew Kramers tutorials on compositing. Great. Thanks

Best of luck to all of you on your projects.

    Warmly,
    Hope

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for helping
I wanted to watch the lessons and learn.

The project files do actually open, in cs5.5 AE that I am using. One has to drag the .aep onto the ae icon, then they do open.

…and discovered the ‘bonus material’, the .swf files do open / play in acrobat pro.

I have flash, they wont open in there. Says protected movie.

So at least interesting to see at least some things.

thanks for the support and encouragment.

    Warmly,
    Hope

    Hi Tero,

That was a very good idea….

Did look and the whole thing seems to be swf / flash presentation. no movies there…sad.
and the swf, when trying to open say ‘protected material’ so wont open either….

but that was a ver good idea.

also, when clicking on the app. there is no show package.

I guess it may only play on a G5, mac or…
dont really understand why it wont play. old protocols?

November 21, 2016 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Render Time-HD-3d layers – Speed up?

Well, I am rendering that project now…

It is taking 10hr so far for less than 2 minutes of animation

still has 3 hrs to go

Ram used of 16GB: 15.99GB per the Activity Monitor. Per the reading at the bottom of AE, it is only 17% of the ram. is being used.
Why would that be? Nothing else was running or open

    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Warmly,
    Hope

    p.s.
    15-16s per frame to render
will stop the render and change the settings and see what happens.

    hi
thanks to these comments, realized that if :

-in timeline – turn on ‘draft 3d’ in tool area of timeline
rendered in ‘draft’ and then click that name ‘draft’ in the render settings in the render queue and for
    effects: all off.

I rendered that thing in 5 min. OMG

It is going to take 8 hrs otherwise. so now at least we can show the clients the content.

Really good to know. In the past I went into the comp and turned off switches, etc, now so much easier to shut off in the Render Settings.

    Thanks for all the info.
