I do not get a “show clip keyframes” option when I right click on a clip in the timeline, but of course I do get a host of other options. I’ve tried it with both multicam and normal clips. I see the opacity key frame line, and I can work with them, but nothing about other keyframes.

Mostly I said that as a joke (a “dig.”) For the record, I don’t think X will inhibit anyone creatively. It might inhibit them commercially. For the moment, none of my shows are cut with X, none of the shows my freelance editors work on elsewhere are cut with X, none of the shows my producer friends in NYC work on are cut with X – but hey, as this thread is testament to, things change.

If they can do what i can do, and they will work cheaper, then they should get my job. However I haven’t met too many kids who can do what I do. My biggest fear is losing the clients that can appreciate the difference. At my age, losing established clients to retirement and/or the mortuary is a much greater fear than worrying about the onslaught of younger competition. Young producers want to work with their peers, for the most part, not an AARP curmudgeon, so the real work is in trying to stay relevant. As a dig, I might also state that if all these young editors are learning FCPX, than I have nothing to worry about.

I always felt the worst name was for the “FCPX Techniques” forum, this simplifies that name and retains the debate name for this forum.

I vote yes, as long as the change is accompanied by a one year moratorium on threads still trying to change this forum’s name to something like “Bunch of lazy editor’s sitting around bitch’n forum.”

I have complained about the same thing. In my case the material was ProRes 422, cut on a MacPro. I hvae also had this same color shift problem with gradiant wipes ever since i switched from FCP7 to CC last year. With the wipes I eventually learned to use dynamic link and do the wipe in AE and the color shift went away. Since there is no Morph Cut effect in AE that option doesn’t exist. I have submitted a bug report but have heard nothing back from Adobe.

Actually the rule is the multicam window will play the clip of the lowest selected track. If you have multi-clips on both video track 1 and 2 then if track 1 is selected, even if track 2 is selected as well, you will see the clip on track 1 in the multicam viewer even though you will see the clip on track 2 in the timeline viewer. This goes not just for viewing but for switching angles as well. the lowest enabled track is the operational tack as far as all multicam activities are concerned.

Yes indeed. Also a good argument for cloning before upgrading either one, and keeping that clone for at least 2 months after the upgrade. Some bugs are slower to bite than others.
