    Nope no Raid.
    Yeah i know, i want one but this is my first experience with a 1080 workflow, I’ve worked in 720 and never had any problems.

    what exactly are we looking at here as far as video codec.
    The video Codec i’ve been trying to export as is the animation codec, but i’ve also tried exporting as the Default HDV1080i60 with the same result

    The easy setup we are using is the…
    HDV- Custom Setup.
    sequence preset- HDV- 1080i60
    Capture Preset HDV, we are capturing from firestore.
    Playback output video- AJA Kona 1080i29.97 8-bit 1920×1080
    Audio Output: Fasttrack Pro
    Edit to tape/PDV: HDV 1440×1080 30fps

    I tried trashing the preferences and it worked but i really don’t know how to do it, i’ll try looking, currently i am exporting the show in HD (IE taking each segment through compressor to make it SD then recompiling in Final Cut.

    I tried exporting through the quicktime conversion setting and rendering before export, both with the same result.

    I’m trying to export using the standard export to quicktime function. Im assuming the problem is all in my disk speed, ive never had any of these problems before moving to 1080

    I really appriciate all the help. Thats why i always come to the COW first.

    Aharon Rabinowitz has some excellent stuff. But lets not forget Andrew Kramer’s training and all the other resources available through the COW’s forums (DUH). College is great for a refresher, I’ve been out of school for two years and went to take classes this semester and i feel young again…ok so i am young, but it’s good at giving you a new perspective, for me one of the biggest aspects in maintaining creativity is being in an environment where everyone is trying to learn, even basic courses have already given me new perspectives, even after 3 days!

    It all really depends on what works for you, Hands on application, or a classroom environment, most Universities offer a nice blend.

    I’d love to be part of such a meaningful Project but i can’t fit all my production equipment and my paper plates and 10 gallons of green bean casserole in my honda without being a danger to those around me…

    I’d venture to say that anyone who shows up with THAT camera for a non paying rap video gig, shouldn’t be expecting to come back with it. If they come back at all. Sounds uplifting…as in uplifting you over the railing and into the river with a lovely new pair of concrete shoes. Hope you’re straight OG.

    Thanks so much, i got it working but i think i will need to put a little more explanation into whats going on, because i know i’ll use this expression in future projects.

    Thanks for the references as well it’s added to my bookmarks.

    Have a magnanimous weekend!

    never mind i got it, i multiplied the parameters by a negative 1. Here is the final code, Thanks for the help “yikesmikes” i guess algebra came in useful after all.

    Here is the final code for reference:

    z=thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”)*-1-138.2;
    linear(z,0,100, -138.2,-150);
    [352,245,z];

    August 3, 2007 at 6:56 pm in reply to: Expression to move Z position

    i put in the function and it works but now it moving toward the center of the cube (ie back towards zero) and if i delete the linear function (Line 2 in the function below) then it still operates, is there any way to set permeters to where it would bounce outward:

    z=thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”)-138.2;
    linear(z,0,100, -138.2,-150);
    [352,245,z];

    i added the -138.2 for the position it needs to come to rest at, i just need to invert the motion.

    Thanks for the help so far man, I’m almost there!

    Thanks
