Do you think that it would be better to keep the Project file on the same drive as the media or on a totally different (third) drive?

I usually keep my current PROJECT file on my desktop and backups on other drives.
Why is it such bad news to keep a project file on the desktop? I didn’t know this …

It’s truly astonishing to see how he gets – literally – everything wrong that he possibly can. Makes me wonder if it is a joke.

Make sure that everything is playing back as you want it especially the music (obviously).
Then EXPORT as a QUICKTIME SELF CONTAINED Movie and check it again.
If you are happy with the result, nothing will mysteriously change at that stage in the EXPORTED QT MOVIE.

Like Mark Raudonis (above) I have experienced this in the past. I would have a music cue in the timeline doing fine and then suddenly it changes into Brass Band music.
This is called “The Brass Band Effect” and is a known issue.
You have not given Final Cut the audio in a format with which it is entirely happy – maybe MPEG3 or something. You may also be hearing little pops and cracks – yes?
In any event you would do best to turn your audio files into Quicktime files which FCP likes. Give us a scream if you are unsure of how to do that.

There is a motion tracking (in Motion) tutorial here on the Cow. I’ve seen it. Not for blurring, but it’s a good tutorial. Dig around and you’ll find it. It show the process for adding car lights “on” to a shot of a car driving towards camera.
