And how many copies, even at 1k a piece has BMD sold compared to Digital Vision? Mmmmmm

I’m not referring to nucoda and mc color support but rather their implementation of elements as opposed to resolves implementation.

    +1
I mentioned this to Peter at a BMD Event in Hollywood a few months back. I think it’s an important feature and jumping back and forth to the color page to do a flip or a flip is cumbersome.

Further, if the inspector is open it needs to stay open when jumping from clip to clip. Currently it closes each time, which is very inefficient when conforming and matching the offline.

The elements are great Panels but the bottom line is that mapping on resolve is down right terrible. If you see what can be done with element mapping there is no reason to touch the mouse during grading (see nucoda). When Jake and I got a chance to try it out it was night and day. I never realized that my panels could be so efficient and a joy to work with. My point is it can be done in resolve too. BMD just needs to take the time to map lay the hooks to the functions and implement the tangent hub controller. Then you would fly and the elements would be the top choice.

I’ve had the same experience myself and mentioned it to BMD at NAB. Hopefully we’ll see this fixed in 11, it would VFX reconforms much more efficient. I’m optimistic.

The grouped clips issues is from what I could tell yesterday addressed this. There are however quite a few quirks from resolve 10 that seem to be lingering stil,l but let’s see what happens by release date.

They have also bought back the # of clips on each timeline. Agreed it’s a great little feature. I’d actually love to see the same thing in the media pool.

Kind of worrisome when your grading platform is now being marketed as a online editor. Come on BM fix all those bugs and give us some better grading tools.

My experience is if you change the speed (different from the XML) the clips in point gets completely scrambled. Like you mention. Pretty annoying unfortunately.

  • Noticed this odd behavior as well a couple weeks ago. Doesn’t make any sense that you can’t punch the speed into the editor and have to right click.

Anxious to try this out! 10.1.3 seems to install but crashes on launch every time. Any thoughts why this might be? I’m on Mavericks 10.9.2 on a nMP.
