Hey guys, thanks for all the help. I ended up just splitting the main video where i wanted to get the effect. I created a new video track and then moved the track that i had spitted to the new video track. and then on another video track had the other video. So i just ended up using track motion to the 2 new video tracks and everything worked out great. Thanks for the help.

I think what i mean is to Re-encode it so that its just a smaller size. but have the same aspect ratio. thanks

Hey Joe, thanks for the reply.
I have a 2 tracks, a main video and then a another track which is about 30 or so seconds long.
At a certain point in the main video i want to split the screen in half(vertically)and have the two tracks playing simultaneously beside each other.
Ive tried the track motion,but it does it to the whole main video and not only the 30 or so seconds i need. The second video i can use track motion cause its the only one on the timeline. Thats my problem.

Hey guys, Im having the same problem. I have a video and i only want a certain portion of the it to have the split screen effect. The track motion just doesnt work out for me since it does the whole video. I cant really get the crop/pan to work for me either.Anyone have any ideas soultions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And oh by the way Im using sony vegas studio 9a.
