Unfortunately, no. Only the 15-inch. Anyone knows a USB3 to Thunderbolt converter? Using windows in Boot camp?

I would use an existing PC if I had one xD I’m not really building a system since I’m a teacher in high school and we don’t deliver for broadcast… yet.

We’re looking into BlackMagic a lot. We already got Resolve Lite, Decklink cards, an ATEM switcher and we’re waiting on an Intensity Extreme (sending pre edited videos to the ATEM from a MBP) and a couple of Smartview HDs so that the guys doing live music mixing of concerts in the studio can see what’s going on and the guy operating the lights on the stage can see if some lights are too bright (But I’m also planning on using them for CC/grading instead of the Panny plasma we got now). Also thinking about using a HDLink to “grade in real time” with a custom LUT, putting it between the switcher output and the input of the decklink card.

But mostly I’m a tech geek that really hope to be a professional colourist. Very tight budget, all the stuff we got now the first year (and not that many students yet) is not cheap. It’s gonna take a couple of years to be on the right side of the money line 😛

    Thanks Alexis 🙂

  • Probably the 9.2 drivers since it’s still in beta. Read somewhere it only outputs NTSC SD.

yes, it’s legit. my boss wasn’t happy when I said we’re going with avid when he saw the price tag xD try to explain to a music producer who wants to get into the film and television business that final cut x is not okay 😛

I guess I have to find out about 10-bit more. It would be really bad if it imported 10-bit as 8-bit and then exported an upsampled image. In the media creation settings I’m able to specify effects processing to 8 or 16-bit. Or same as source.

I know about MC6, we’re just not updating yet. Too many bugs and I’m not a fan of Lion. But I look forward to 64-bit and being able to use our Decklink from Black Magic.

    Thanks for your time, Hector!

Weird… Cause I’ve seen the green 10-bit icon a couple of times on software only…

Does MC preserve the 10-bit when importing and exporting without it? Let’s say: AMA Prores in, Prores out? Or fast import DNxHD 185X and the same out? (I usually AMA and consolidate. Too much fiddling around with setting to get a fast import with all the different formats)

Tried both wav and aiff. Maybe my Intensity is about to give up. I’ll try everything at work tomorrow.

Not on my personal desktop (where I am right now), it got an Intensity Pro. But the one at work got a Decklink Studio, and there’s where it matters. I’m testing out audio and EDL for flattened movie before grading a concert.

Thanks Roman, it tried that earlier today as a workaround as an alternative to export a quicktime and using auto cut detection/edl. But I think it’s weird. If I navigate to the backup of the card and make my way to the .MP4 I can load it into the Media Pool. In my head it doesn’t make sense… Anyway, thanks again.
