well i have basically gone over all the settings over and over again on the fs100 and the hvx200, and tried to record and it keeps on coming up as external 1394 disconnect. I mean i have used this thing for months now without any issues with the same settings, so not to sure where to even begin???

  • Thanks guys, i just imported all the footage using imovie it was a lot easier and then i transferred all the clips to fcp. Whatever works i guess right….i was trying to capture right from the camera to fcp, and that was the other best option i could think of.

    Thanks all for the input.

  • Thats right i’m using DV tapes, and when i go log and capture i can control the camera playback and view the footage only on the camera, and when i hit capture now, it says looking for timecode.

Always keep in mind what you’re doing and for whom you’re doing it. Don’t think about the market you are hitting, (if your product is good then you can ask for what you want). Population is nothing thought is everything, do your job, get the bigger business charge accordingly. You will know what you deserve when you acheive what you were going for.

April 23, 2008 at 3:55 am in reply to: Is this legal?

Thats a tough one, i would really ask a lawyer about that, for the most part i know there have been tons of shows which mention celebereties names as reference i’m sure you can do that, because names aren’t copyrighted and i’m sure there are more than one person named Tom Cruise if he really wants to take someone to court for using his name, i don’t think he can win, cause you can always say it was another Tom Cruise.
    Copyright Name can’t do it.
Hope it helps but still ask a lawyer.

Well I do have some experience and you guys are totally right about the way you have to go about in this business, i was hoping to hear something else like “oh yeah check out this site tons of work there” LOL but that is true i do have to just jump in and get right into it and try and hope for the best. I do have a production company, and we are getting our first feature film on the go, but it’s a independent feature, and we all know how tough that is. I would just like to get out of the army and get some work, but i guess the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

    Thanks guys.

Reset your scratch disk and try to reconnect again. If this does not work then try manually looking for your files and connect them. If you change the source of your original files you have to reconnect again as well, so make sure if you have renamed a folder or moved your original files else where you have to find them again.

    Hope this helps

January 6, 2008 at 12:13 am in reply to: Original Audio FCP 5

    Hi John,

Well i did the editing for the film, and i was having a lot of problems with the audio cause there were a couple of fast clips and the audio wouldn’t stick together. So i basically edited to visuals and gave it to the sound guy OMF files for editing and since he doesn’t have some the audio clips he’s having a hard time recreating the sound. So he requested i give him all the audio in OMF so he can take a listed and work with them.
So i have been trying to figure out what to do with this to give it up to him.

Let me know if that makes sense, i was able to give him all sound in AIFF but he wants all OMF.

    Thanks.
