What videoformat is your source media?
If it is in DV, here is an idea…This is a shot in the wild, but I have noticed that – at least in certain situations – to go to uncompressed from DV _can_ have some advantages, when extreme re-rendering is needed. A blowup by 133% could be a situation like that. Because you don’t get excessive degradation in the process.
That does not mean that I’m not aware that DV is DV etc, but when applaying cruel changes to the source material, I have found that this route can give better results.
Another idea – taken from photoshop sessions (have not tested this!) is to uprez the image before blowing it up. Dunno what effect this would have in fcp, thoug. In PS, going from a bad jpeg, uprez’ing, creating a TIFF, Treating and then crop’ing is often a better idea than just blow’ing up the jpeg and applying changes.
This is defenitely in the 1 cent region of suggestions… -;)

Sure guess Media Producer should work. Looks like it among other things sort of does the same thing as compressor
(but, I’m sure – it’s better and more expensive.There’s a wide variety of software to mix 5.1 in these days. Any “serious” DAW does it.
As with video – the differnce is in the skill and monitoring.
You don’t get that with the software unfortunately.

2. Select the “Help” menu – -
If you’re in 5:
Compressor manual chapter 7.If you’re in 4xxx
You’ll have to aklign the audio in A.PackAnd: Hey presto
The resulting file goes to DVDSP (Not iDVD, I think..)

Just a quick clarification.
The 2.7 Ghz machine is PCIX, but has 2 processors. It is now end-of-lifed, but I guess some Apple resellers still have them in stock.
the new 2.5 has 2 dualcore processors.
What seems to be an option is to ose Decklinks HD-Link with a cinema or maybe prefferrebly Dell 24 display for monitoring.
I haven’t tested, but I am planning to go this route withthe multibridge studio box.
The studiodisplay connected directly to the Mac is just another computer monitor. A nice one, though.
RAM
As much as you can afford, but buy big sticks whatever configuration, so you do not have to throw away the old ones when you’re upgrading.
Do not mix ecc and non-ecc RAM

You may very well NOT have a working QT-Pro number, as this is automatically inserted/generated when you register FCP (during install).
It should be somewhere on the regnumber sheet that came with FCP.
I never made that number work though, but I had bought a QTP license prior to buing FCP, sp I used that.To make 4.5 wotk with QT 7, you need to buy a new QTP license…
