  • Thanks for your response.
I did create a new sequence. I dragged some of my files in it so that FCP asks me if I want my sequence settings to match my clips. I said yes.
    but the problem persists.

And that s not even something exotic!
    Apples prores LT 1920*1080 de-interlaced…

  • I am not judging quality.
I have 6 final cut sequences.
ALL of them shot with a canon 7D under the same light conditions.

ONE and only one of these sequences increases drastically in brightness when I hit play and returns back to normal when I hit pause.
    The other sequences behave nicely.

I say this is a settings problem that i messed up and that i am enable to fix. Not a quality problem….

Thank you so much guys for your responses.
I will test different encoding softwares and post screen shots of comparisons.

    Thanks for the prompt reponse.

This being said. Is there (today in 2011) a product that will allow me to connect my laptop to a broadcast monitor?

Additional question: My product will ONLY be broadcasted on the internet, does it change the way to approach video and color correction in anyway?

    Really?

With all due respect, calibrating thw screen is not that hard… that s 5 apples that have to fit in terms of luniance and color into 5 squares… I am no superman. But I ve done it many times and always land in the same ball park…

Calibration problems aside, the Internet is SWARMED with people complaining about inconsistency between FCP canvas, quicktime and h264.
If I open the same apple prores file in fCP, quicktime and squeeze and put them side by side, it is just not the same.

Can you please give a second thought?
Or maybe someone who had the same problem chime in?

  • For nnow, I just want him to be able to see it and comment ( quality of sound is VERY important as it is about an audio tutorial.
It will go on the internet eventually… (h264? 🙁 )

  • I tried to use cinematools.
Indeed, I can convert my 24fps to 23.976 fps and FCP is happy with that.
However, my audio got changes to from 48khz to 47.777khz.
Does this mean that I should use the conformed video AND the orginial audio file?

I am using IShowU and recording in prores LT to match the format of my Canon 7d thatI also converted to Prores LT.

  • Thanks Dave!
Will this have any effect on the speed of my clips and on my audio?

  • Final Cut Pro and Mpeg stream clip both tell me it is 24p and NOT 23.98…
