It takes longer in AE but, because Avid never fixed their aliasing problem, ya gotta do whatcha gotta do.
It’s funny. Avid released the 3D DVE with MC v5. Whie it was aliased, it was a huge upgrade from v4. Now, more than 15 years later, they are back down to version 4 and boast the exact same aliasing that began biting them in the ass more than a decade ago.I look forward to seeing where things end up with em. Who do you think will be the benafactors (bisedes us). Apple?

Even as a student, I always found it entertaining to hear restrictions like “never do this” or any other old opinion called a rule.
I make shows. There is no template for em. Certainly no room for restrictions from old school thinking that has nothing to do with my needs, taste, or preference. -
I never shoot live events on film. I shoot with a Sony FX1 and edit in an Avid Adrenaline suite. I seldom tote a tripod and I don’t light live events. I keep a wireless lav in my pocket, should I need it, and I keep a dimmable LED headlamp on me.

Now it just means some lights and audio are involved. It’s the modern way of linking a day rate. -
You can find cheap drops on ebay now for less than 100 bucks. Regular 3 pt lighting on the subject with a good wash on the drop and you can eyedrop it. It’s not at all like the old ultimatte daze.
Get Keylight for AE and it’ll make you a rock star with the poorest of lighting. -

I suggest it all the time, unless I am adhering to a screen of a certain size… jumbotron, times square billboards, ect.
Anything for tv though… I just hate 4X3 now. Even if doing SD, I’d rather letterbox it. -

You can give yourself a five-figure raise every other year or so as needed by moving on. You need that first gig though and that’s a high salary for a first.
