You should set up a business account and work out of that but as a sole proprietor you certainly don’t have to. I used out regualr checking account for years and just kept reciepts for expenses for tax purposes.

a non compete cost me about 60 grand my first year in business for myself. While the company I had been staffing for went under, one of the owners felt he still owned me. While he didnt, he did get a restraining order against my working in st louis and I had to fight it with my own money and miss bookings in the meantime.
I always looked at non-competes as an admission the employer won’t do everything they can to keep good artists. I didnt even know I signed this one… came with like my voice mail instructions and stuff the first day I was there.
It’d be rediculas for me to ever have somone sign one of these so I see it as rediculas for somone to ever ask me to sign one again.
Much better for two parties to just be cool to each other, imo.

Bang for the buck, ya can’t beat a FCP suite today.
You’ll piece it together as needed and there are no hidden surprises as with companies like Avid. You simply buy what you need and it works.
I’ll be shopping for a new suite in ayear or so. I can’t find it within myself to write another check Avid’s way and honestly, my needs and my clients needs have outgrown what an affordable Media Composer can do and my budget will never allow for a DS.
This leaves FCP over and over again. -
I just multiply my hourly rate by how long it otta take and then add some fluff for revisions or stumbles. Doesnt have to be harder than that. This is something you’ll get better at with experience.
Don’t fret the bug, as you mentioned a letter box and the new logo can take care of that.
Doesnt sound like you really require raw materials. Just an audio swap and logo change.

If you habve more b-roll of students, it could use it. I’d slow at least the suits up top as my ear wants to hear some Nat sound with real time talkin heads. I think it’d look good if you slow mowed every shot
..and added more shots. -
the quick cuts come out of nowhere, don’t last long enough to justify em and the music does not sting it enough.
If your paid by the hour, fix it and your boss will love it even more.
If your on salary and he’s already happy, I think your done, man.
