Yep, I found that to get the best quality it needs to be in best>full. However, I still see some interlacing affects. Is there a way to deinterlace a single frame? Thanks

Ok, I found it, right after I posted the question.

Thanks for the tips Theo. The “Save as type” drop down menu to which I referred in my original post is on the “Render as” dialog box, not the “Save as” option under the File menu. I can see how the wording of my post would give you a false impression. I will give it a shot and post back with the results.

Greetings Theo, and thank you for the response. The camera is AVCHD, and my intent is to burn to standard DVD. I am able to import the .mts files with no problem, but I’m not sure which render option I need to use for burning to DVD. I read one post where a responder to the post indicated for DVD you need to render as mpeg2. However, I’m confused as which options to choose when rendering. The “Save as type” option is clear, but the “Template” option is not so clear. How do I know which template to use for burning to DVD? It seems to me no matter which I choose, the DVD is only capable of holding so much information, so anything extra will be thrown out.

  • Andy, I’m a complete newbie to HD, so I can’t really answer your question. Just thinking aloud, though, which rendering option are you trying? Have you tried just outputting to AVI, which should work on any computer? Also, I have read some posts here and at other sites that seemed to indicate there might be some issues with 64-bit processors and Vegas. You might want to google “sony vegas 64-bit”, or start with this one…
