you won’t have to worry about that if you down-convert your show to 4:3, then your 16:9 show will be letterboxed in a 4:3 frame

Who ever said to pull out a manual in an edit? You could get info AFTER the edit or if you were pressed for time you would collaborate with another in house editor.

Press play on the camera and relaunch FCP. While the camera is still running launch log and capture. Sometimes FCP get hung up and needs to see that video in actually present.

After naming your clips in your bin do this, Modify>Rename>File to match clip
