I would suggest purchasing one of the books or DVDs on the subject, because there is quite a lot to it. “The Green Screen Handbook” by Jeff Foster is excellent; “Greenscreen Made Easy” is a good simplified text by Jeremy Hanke and Michele Yamazaki; and a Reel Classroom DVD called “Light On Green Screen Lighting” by Carl Gundestrup has some good tips.

I don’t think it did. At least I can’t see how the LCD could alter color in the recording. The guy who repaired it thought it was a white balance anomaly. It was too radical in my mind to be just an anomaly so I may loose sleep over the possibility of it happening again. But since I couldn’t trust the screen, I didn’t know the WB was off. I should have looked in the eyepiece.

Good idea. It was a funeral, after all. But luckily I was doing it for free, although it is disconcerting and scary in the future. I went forth and got the LCD screen fixed and that cost $432 for a cable swap compared to what Sony wanted to charge at $1,200.00.

I’m afraid you guys are right. So that means there is nothing I can do? And how could that have happened just by starting it up again? The camera seems to be working now. Does anyone have any idea about avoiding this in the future?

I just checked the camera and it looked like correct color when I white balanced. Hmm, I wonder what is going on?

Thanks! I go through that routine every so often, but this is different. It doesn’t respond to that to my surprise. I’m wondering if the LCD screen was something internal that triggered in the camera. Everything looks super green and washed out. I do have an old Color Correction for FCP DVD by DigitalFilm Tree, but I’m wondering if there is something more up to date. I’m hoping I’m not having camera trouble, but I’m going to test it out now.
So would you happen to know of any updated comprehensive sources for color correction off of a chip chart?
