do you just render the hdv file as is and load the whole piece on the thumb drive

i was not thinking of rendering to a flash drive, just copying the movie file to it afterwards

what brand of thumb do you use?

How great that you take the time to provide this info.

Pudget systems makes solid systems, I bought an internet computer too and its very good.

It’s for work, so It’s not mine to play with anyway…

As It would void my warentee i don’t want to mess with over clocking etc. The system renders fine as is, just wanted to use more than 50% of the CPU If possible. As you say the new versions of Vegas should help.

This is why I send everyone to see the COW!

    Ok,
I tried to change the setting from 4 to 8 but when I hit “apply” the number changes back to 4.

I also tried to find how to check and enable hyperthreading on my system and so far all I can find is that you have to re-install windows?

As this is windows 64bit ultimate there does not seem to be a lot to google about hyperthreading yet.

    Hi
I just learned that my internet is down at the house, so i will not be able to respond to this thread until tomorrow afternoon (after I leave work in an hour.)
I found something about Vegas 8.0.c not being to use more than 2.5 gigs of memory, but nothing yet about Vegas not using the quad processor to it’s full strength?

    thanks, Greg

November 17, 2008 at 7:19 pm in reply to: Hdv tapes Loaded using mac and final cut pro?

first place I went to had a panasonic 200 and would not play the sony format HDV

Second place had final cut pro and could not write to my external drive formatted to pc,

finally borrowed a cheap sony camera and captureed to my PC no problem, my own camera had the firewire board shorted out due to the firewire ground design flaw. don’t plug and unplug your I link with the computer or camera on. The camera menu directs you to unplug the ilink when changing menu options….

thanks for the link Might be a great work-around for portable drives working between Mac and PC

November 17, 2008 at 7:14 pm in reply to: Sony A1U Firewire Capture Not connecting at all

    To update

I borrowed a friends cheap sony hdv camera and was careful to turn off camera and computer before connecting the firewire, also shut down and restarted when I had to change the down convert to off

Thanks to your post I did not fry HIS camera firewire board too

This time the HDV capture worked easy and fine

Sounds like a class action suit someday lots of fried boards when the menu says “hot pluggable device ”

    many thanks
