    Thanks, John,

5.0 does not display clip and timecode in and outs.
Does let me search and has a file result containing all the media, how to save and print?, I don’t know. If a way could be found in 6.0 , I’d upgrade, as I’m starting to do HDV content now.

Thanks for the input, I had not used the search before

    Thanks, I did that.
Saved files are what I am using as my computer totally fried.
Built a new computer, and reloaded the saved project.

Now I’m stuck in a loop of re-capture where some of the clips get corrupted, and have to make new clips with the exact timecode in and outs, then “Replace the damaged clip.

Need: An answer as to Printing timecode in and out data with tape and clip data for a project.

Now I have to go through the advanced capture window BEFORE I try to re-capture clips and double click each clip to display the timecode in and out numbers, then hand write the numbers for thousands of clips for my feature film.

:Is there a way to print out this data?–Anyone?

    thanks, Greg

I tried that in vegas 5, and it does this as well.
But, I need a complete list to be printed out on paper so I can re-enter lost timecode data when Vegas distroys the origanal timecode during re-capture.
    thanks, Greg

    Interesting note:

    I just re-captured tape 2 (out of 12)
three clips are bad and need to be re-captured

All three have new timecode numbers, inpoint at 00:47:00:00 instead of 00:09:00:00 and read as “smpte ebu 25fps, video
    and 25pal
I’m using a sony dsr11, very clean deck, little tough to capture 70 clips fine and three as pal off the same deck randomly in the middle of the tape?

sorry, you cannot just correct the timecode, Vegas does not let you do that anywhere.

The re-capture does NOT work ok, you have to capture a new clip with the correct timecode in and outs, that you have written down, then replace the bad clip

So the answer I need is:
How to print a list of my tapes in my media bin with
clips and timecode in and out points, so I have the correct numbers and can make new clips, once my timecode is ruined by Vegas.

This is pretty basic, we need to recapture source video from time to time.
If this is not fixed, I’m sure not upgrading to Vegas 6, I’ll have to buy and learn a new program.

How do I manualy capture a clip and replace it with a clip that has already been cut into tiny cuts in the timeline and not lose the edit.
I have 12 X 64min dvcam tapes with 70+ clips per tape , so this could get ugly

Thank-you very much for the help.
Knowing that there is not another way to do the re-capture, helps me focus.

I do have the veg file on disk, so all is not lost.
I just did not want to start over with the same problems. I’ve tried this a few times already.

The deck is the same. all but three out of 60 some clips captured and playback fine. (Captured and edited a short show last night without problems.)
Timecode is unbroken and each tape had a different hour.
I restarted the computer a few times and the un-highlighted recapture line is still there. I understand the tape as it seamed to be packed too hard, but can’t get my head around the file not letting me recapture media after it has been deleated.

I restored the problem clips from the recycle bin and redeleted, same thing happens, so this looks like a computer problem.

I’ll clean the deck and try the computer methods you talk about.

I’ll work on this tonight when I get back, in and let you know.
Thanks again to both of you, this forum is a amazing!
