February 1, 2012 at 4:32 pm in reply to: New Final Cut X (10.0.3) often pauses a second before timeline playbackI’m getting the same pause. It’s when I have my Kona3 and AV turned on that I notice it. It’s pretty annoying. There is about a 1 second delay from the time I press play to the time it starts playing.

I wonder if they’ll come out with a FCPX to OMF solution. We export our projects out to OMF from FCP7 so our audio guy can mix them in sonar. I don’t believe sonar can read AAF.

Yeah. I agree. I think it would be great for down and dirty single edits, but as far as television shows or even feature film work, it’s not there. I think Avid is going to take back over the collaborative environment.

It’s small, but I like the fact you can match frame back to the ‘bin’ or whatever they call it now and your original clip has the in and out points from your edit. I still don’t like the fact that there’s not a ‘Source’ Monitor. Maybe they’ll listen and put that back in too.

January 31, 2012 at 8:13 pm in reply to: AJA v10.2 “X Beta” drivers for FCPX 10.0.3 available nowI went ahead and took the leap and installed the 10.2.x drivers. So far I’ve been able to open and play video in Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer 6, and Final Cut Pro 7. I did have to download the 10.1 Avid Open IO Drivers to get the Avid to work. I guess I’ll try Premiere Pro next.

So far I’ve been able to work in Media Composer 6, FCPX, and FCP 7 without issue. Haven’t tried Premiere Pro yet.

I double checked all my settings. The image is beautiful. There is just a small delay when hitting play. I’m sure they’ll work it out.

Thanks for the tips. I think it’s awesome that AJA is looking at these forums.

There is a lag. So I’ll press play and it takes a moment for it to start playing with AV turned on. It also seems to hang up once in a while, however that could be because I have some unrendered effects. I’ve been using Avid MC6 lately and my Kona 3 is very responsive using Avid, even more that Final Cut Pro 7, so I’ve been getting used to it I guess.

Yeah. It looks like broadcast qaulity. It’s a little jumpy once and a whole and it lags behind the timeline, but it’s a step in the right direction
