I’m not sure if this is the same intermittent issue but I’ve found that when sharing Premiere Pro projects with my partner who does color work that the links with the LUTS on shots in the timeline often break and that when I open a project that has been worked on by another editor that I have to manually re-link the LUTs to clips. I think this problem has arisen due to our directly using the LUTs in the Lumetri panel on each edit system.

However, the solution to this issue may be to create a preset of a LUT and then instead of directly applying a LUT to clips, to instead apply the preset effect to the clips. The preset effect can then be easily shared between edit systems.

Here’s a video done by the The Premiere Pro Blog that shows a solution to getting rid of the automatically generated masterclip LUTS on Amira footage.

Mickey, it would be much easier to help you solve your problem if you would state what exactly your problem is.

When you say that FCPX and Premiere 2018 don’t work, you’re just referring to the importing of the .mts files?

Have you attempted to transcode those mts files into a friendlier codec like pro-res? And have you done a clean install of High Sierra?

You probably could make improvements on those colors through the secondary color corrector which allows you to isolate individual colors.

Mickey, if you could be a bit clearer about your problem maybe we can figure out a solution. If I understand you correctly, VLC plays the files fine with both video and audio. Adobe media browser also sees them and you can import them into Premiere but you don’t have audio. Is that correct?

So the only problem you really have is to get the audio stream with the video in Premiere.

One possible workaround: Rename file from .mts to .m2ts

another option is to convert the .mts files into another format. Have you attempted to convert these files?

I noticed that you’ve posted the same query on the Adobe Hardware forum which I think is very wise. However, it also appears that you’re ignoring the advice that Bill Gehrke gave you. If I was putting together a new system I would absolutely follow his recommendations.

Here’s Bill’s general advice for building a new system:

Do not go with off the shelf big name configurations, go to custom video editing builders like Puget. Safe Harbor or ADK they will ask you many questions about your media and workflow and deliver a real optimized video editing system that will do much better than any off the shelf.

Xeon’s are a architecture of the past.
Unless you have a very expensive 10-bit monitor a Quadro card is overkill.
Do not waste a super speed M.2 PCIe x4 SSD on the boot drive. Use only for Projects and Media. Use a standard SATA III SSD for the OS/Applications.
Never use RAID 5 if you are dealing with high sequential rates like video streams
RAID is a thing of the past for performance, it is good for high reliability back up and archiving.
