USB 3.0 is not fast enough for 4k media. Purchase a USB-C drive like a Samsung T5 and you’ll then have greatly improved data thruput.

I’ve never run into any syncing issues with multicam so your problems are a bit confusing.

My recommendation is to set your autosave to a google drive location ( or dropbox, etc.) and not in a folder next to the main project.

In addition, the age old rule of actively saving the project as often as possible still remains.

Do all of your video angles have audio as well? If so, just highlight all of your video angle clips as well as the master audio clip and then control click and select “create multicam source sequence” and synchronize using audio.

If you don’t have syncable audio for each video angle you’ll need to find a sync point for each angle and then within “create multicam source sequence” select synchronize using mark in.

If you’re only using Premiere for graphics then why not just do all of that in Aftereffects? It seems very inefficient to add Premiere into your workflow loop.

Others may argue differently but I would advocate that you abandon the dynamic linking altogether and export files from Aftereffects that will be imported into Premiere.

Unfortunately, there remains too many problems with dynamic linking to be able to rely on it in a regular workflow.

This should also alleviate the slow rendering.

1. Resolve is an excellent program but it’s really up to the Blackmagic marketing folks and engineering team whether it can become a mainstream player.

2. maybe but not in the near term.

3. completely based on your market. Where I’m at, it’s been ages since I last cut on an Avid because Premiere dominates.

If you buy your own drives you can get OWC Thunderbay for around $700. Go to any major online computer reseller and buy four matching drives and then buy just the Thunderbay case from OWC.
