I was hoping to avoid re-rendering media – but at this point that’s probably WAY quicker than all the screwing around I’ve done to try and solve this anyway. Thanks for the idea- should work.

    Thanks to Rohit for help

    davincihelp@blackmagicdesign.com

Turns out I had my project default set to 24fps when I imported the 23.98 xml. After importing, I switched project to 23.98.

Don’t do that. Make sure your project is set to the correct frame rate before importing your xml.

My problem actually had nothing to do with speed changes – Resolve ‘simulated’ those just fine. My problem was the rendering 24/23.98- caused a little ‘hiccup’ in the picture.

Right. I know where they are, they’re not working correctly on my system. I CAN add them using right-mouse-click. Juan, are you saying they’re working correctly on your system? Are you running Mac or PC?

Agreed. Grading on OLED PVMs, but using Panny Plasma as client monitor.

I have it on good authority that the current plasma of choice is Panasonic TH-50BT300U, about 3500 bucks before you add the SDI input board. We have been using the… uh… ancestors… ‘series 9’ plasmas for several years and, though now ‘outdated, they’re still going strong and look great.

That worked – the default user preset was updated with the correct drive, now new projects get that drive. Thanks for the explanation.

Yes, I have a user preset – and it looks like that’s where it’s coming from. I’m having a little trouble change the user preset, but I’m sure I’ll figure that out. Thanks Dwaine!

    Hey Peter
Thanks for looking into this. I’m on OSx 10.7.3, Now Resolve 9 beta 2.

When creating a new project, the ‘working folders’ are always set to a RAID that was removed from my system well over a year ago. That raid does not appear in the media pool or anywhere else that I can find. I can change the directory to the drive I want – but I can’t figure out how to set it so it defaults to the correct directory.

The incorrect drive is in the default project, which I cannot save, but can only ‘Save As’

Should I start a new database? I’m sure this is an operator error of some kind, and not a huge deal since the first time I grab a still I get a window reminding me to change to a valid drive, but, still…

  • I have a similar issue with Avid Artist Panel (aka Euphonics MC Color) the first time I start the application after power up, I have to set a different it peripheral, save, then set it back to the Avid panel to get it to respond. It does that in v8, also, so I assumed it was an issue with the panel, not Resolve.

Sure, except that’s not working. The new render has a new name, instead of replacing the old one. I feel like there’s some switch or something I’m missing here, because I know it worked in 8.0 – (which could just be a coincidence.) if I de-select ‘render clip with unique filename’ it makes a horrendous mess, of course, though that would, on the surface seem to be the solution.
