Having the same issue, but not even opening project in Premiere CC 7.2.2 fixed the problem. Recently updated to mac OS X 10.9.4 to fix another problem with Premiere. I’ll let you know if I find a fix.

I was getting audio pops when I pressed play and when playhead hit any audio edits. I noticed that the music track was labelled “Stereo mapped to 2 Mono”, probably because this was a converted FCP 7 project.
When I re-imported the audio, it came in as Stereo mapped to one stereo track. I over-cut previous audio and pops went away.
Hope this helps someone out there.
