August 3, 2011 at 11:23 am in reply to: Boole modeling not working with dynamics tags, probably an easy fixdo you have the tag setup to trigger on collision. That may be the issue if it’s exploding before it’s hit. You also might want to ad a slight margin of spacing between the shape that will explode and the main wall. Something really small that won’t be noticed but will a lot not to intersect with any other geometry.
I would suggest making the boole object editable after duplicating it since if you have it still as a boole it’s kind of memory intensive when using dynamic depending on the complexity of it.
Hope that helps.

If its a tiling issue you can turn that off under the projection types. You also may want to right click the texture and choose fit to object or one of the other option. Sometimes it’s just playing with the offset a bunch
hope that helps

You could just set the number of full rotation to a really high number but it might be better to create a loop and then adjust it accordingly.
You could use this, https://aescripts.com/the-loopmaker/ or the tried and true loopOut expression after you precomp it.Hope that helps

To my understanding you can only use dynamic link when you install the production premium suite for the version you are working on. Not sure if this applies to 5 and 5.5 but having a standalone won’t allow the dynamic link to work. Not sure if there would be a work around for this either since it is a core component. You maybe be able to import the project but it wont be “dynamic”.

It looks like a more advance version of the bad tv warp effects with some nice time remapping. You may be able to use that as a base and develop it further.
…
After doing some quick searching in google I found this https://aescripts.com/tv-distortion-bundle/ distort bundle and the data glitch one may work well. I also found this long list of on mylenium site. https://www.aeplugins.myleniumstuff.de/?cat=4hope this helps,

I’m sure there are number of ways to do this in AE and outside depending on how you want it to look.
One way might just be to use the beam effect which works 2D space.
You also may be able to use https://www.yanobox.com/.I think after I tracked the shot might try it to do it in C4D for the lines and bring it in to AE to do the text so I can change it easily. I’m sure there more methods that may work in AE alone as well, maybe with expressions.
hope this help

You could do something with expressions but it would be similar to the set mask way you stated.

July 27, 2011 at 10:46 pm in reply to: I’m on a Mac. My exported videos NEVER work for my clients on PC. How to get around this?I have had the same issue before though typical I use to always a work from PC to Mac and usually I worked on the files on Mac too.
What codec are you using for your .mov files? If you trying to give them the best quality such as using animation then at high quality it just wont play due to processing power that most machines don’t have and if your clients are not tech savvy then pc will be in mid to low range I suspect. My Laptop stalls sometimes and it’s fairy highend (or was a year ago).
There should be a avi setting I remember correctly on mac though I don’t think I’ve ever used it. You may want to render though media encoder since it works with AE. Typical I would use make a mp4 or if using mov use the mp4 codec other wise like you said it will only play audio or for me sometimes it’s just video. Some times you can play that on pc even through windows media player…
I like Dave’s idea for png’s that has worked for me too.
Hope that helps and you figure it out.

Hmm you could use realflow if you really wanted to go full blown water liquid dynamics if you have access to realflow.
Another idea to fake liquid might be using the many spheres via clonner then using metaballs to bring them together to fake liquid.
If I remember correctly there was a cineversity live episode where they used this technique to control a water droplet going down the side of a soda can that got bigger.
hope this helps

I think you maybe be able to use expression timeline script https://aescripts.com/expression-timeline/. Another option would be to right a if statement to tell it to on work up to a certain frame which is essentially what the script does but automatically.
However I’m thinking that when you switch it off the layer following may jump to the position it was at originally before it started following. So you may want to try another approach that will let it stay at it’s last position.
hope this helps
