Everything works except I’m trying to figure out how to see the output of this system on a composite monitor. What’s the best way of hooking my HDe system up to a composite monitor? I know I can use the video out from the deck (Beta SP PVW 2800), but the pictture is not stable. There’s a sync problem with a black bar in the middle of the screen. Also, I’d rather not have to turn the deck on to watch output from my Media 100 HDe.

I imagine I need to connect something to a reference signal. I do own a black burst generator. Thanks!

    Hi Steve-

The AJA card is the OEM card that comes with the new media 100hde system. It’s the same as the LHE card. I have a dual boot system with Media 100Hde on one drive and FCP Studio on the other. I did extensive research on putting this system together, and it CAN be done successfully according to Media 100 and Aja.

I have a Mac G5 Quad, and I’m connecting the Muilt-cables that came with the Aja card to the Mac and to a PVW 2800 deck. Using the Y Pb Pr ins and outs. The deck switch is in the proper position (up). I can digitize and edit on both systems, yet neither system will allow me to output to tape. I get audio not video. The video level meter on the deck indicates that it is not receiving a signal.

any thoughts on what I should try? Thanks

The weird thing on my set-up is that I have FCP on a second drive as part of a dual boot system. On FCP, everything is in sync. But on Media 100Hde, it’s off about 12 frames.

Also, any thoughts as to why I’m not seeing video out to my deck? I’m seeing audio fine, and I can digitize. I’m currently not using the junction box, but have the multi cables connected to my G5 Quad and the Y Pb Pr ins and outs of my PVW 2800.

    Thanks.

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for your reply.

It’s a Mac G5 Quad. OSX 10.4.8. I’m on FCP Studio 5.1 The system is cabled with the multi cord that comes with the aja. Y Pb Pr cables in and out connected to y deck component in and out connectors. The switch on the deck is in the right position. I’m able to digitize, but am not seeing a video signal out to my deck. I’ll check on the view menu when I get into the office.

One additional point here. I have a dual boot system with FCP on one bootaable drive and Media 100 Hde on the other. Both systems can digitize but neither is seeing video output.

    Thanks

    Greg
