    Kieran-

Thanks so much. The Genlock set-up was the answer!! I set it to Ref in, and it works!! Now I don’t need to worry about a patch bay, a Video DA, etc. I owe you one.

    Have a great holiday!

    Thanks Mark,

A few additional questions. Are all these items on a typical Grip truck package? Would you think a 1 ton grip truck would do the job. What kind of HMIs? Would you go with 1200″s? How big of a generator? Would a 6.5 KW 50 Amp do? You’re right…generator noise would ot be a factor.

The pontoon boat spot features a group on the boat with the lake’s treeline in the background, the camea pulls back and a guy snorkeling pops out of the water between the camera and the boat no farther in the background. This is where the camera needs to be eye level with the snorkeler. Do you think that fish tank will work< or would we need an underwater housing? Thanks

I doubt that “big shots” are ONLY getting $50 per hour. There’s a place I use here locally that charges $95 per hour for Authoring, and $75 per hour for menu design. Thay do vey basic stuff, corporate/industrial DVDs

The only way to do that would be to come out of the y out of the card to the monitor and loop from the monitor to the deck so I can record to tape. I would think that this would hurt my video signal coming back to the deck…wouldn’t it?

I have heard several people use Dell monitors like the Dell 2405 24″. I have heard that there’s a 30′ Dell that works great too. They are cheaper than Apples. In my opinion, nothing looks as nice picturewise as a Cinema Display.

I created a dual boot system by adding a second SATA internal drive to my Mac G5 Quad. In system preferences you can highlight which drive you want to start up with, or if I remember correctly you hold doen the option key as you start your system, and then you can choose which drive to use.

I put an identical OS on each drive, but in my case I have Media 100 Hde on one drive and FCP on the other. It works great! The concept isto avoid conflicts with programs and drivers by using two drives. Hope that helps.

    Hi Thax,

What I REALLY need to do is avoid the black bar om my client monitor. So far I’ve tries sending black from a BSG-50 to the reference input of the PVW 2800. till has the same issue, ut by constantly turning the BSG-50 off and on the picture works fine, for a while. I’ve tried sending black from the BSG into my AJA junction box and back out to the monitor reference…Still the same problem. Any thoughts on how to stabilize the picture in my monitor?

    Thanks

Thanks Floh. I have a client who I just finished a training video for, now wanting to send this video to Italy for viewing only. I’ll suggest they try this.

By the way this was my FIRST project completed on my new M100 HDe system, which is a success in itself, considering I put the system together myself. Thanks so much for all of your help and patience during this process. I’m not sure I’d be up and running without you Floh. Hey are you going to NAB in Las Vegas? I’d love to stop by and say hello.

    Greg
