I’ve hooked up a Horita BSG 50 to the reference in on my
Sony PVW 2800 deck. I take the composite output from the deck to my NTSC composite monitor. Still can’t lose the black bar in my monitor. This isn’t good when a client is present.

I’m editing analog component to my PVW 2800.

My set-up is a Mac G5 Quad, out to the AJA junction box to the PVW deck. Any thoughts? Do I need to take some reference in and out of the Aja box too?

You should connect the Ref out from the Aja hardware to the Ref in of the deck when mastering (or when watching “through” the deck).

Thanks Floh, but this still does not work. Is there something need to set up in the AJA to make this work?

Try composite video out (if there is such an o/p from the AJA to the 2800 ref in. Make sure the ref in on the 2800 is terminated.

I have been working this way with my M100i for years and years and my 2800 is genlocked to the M100.

    hope this helps
