Thanks Chris, is it still only creating a reference file? Or should I just create a self-contained QT file? Will that take much longer?

Thanks Jerry, how would you ramp the speed town? Would that give me an ease into the freeze frame, or would it be abrupt? I don’t have motion 4 I’m still on motion 3 and FCP 6.06

Well I submitted my bid and we’ll see what happens. BTW I asked the client via email if he could give me an idea of their budget. His answer was “This question is not relevant”.

Thanks for all of your advice. Have a good one!

Thanks Nick and Grinner. Unfortunately, they can’t really tell me EXACTLY what the videos will require, since much will depend on the instructor and subject matter. I figure that if I purchase two camera packages, I can farm out the shoots and possibly the edits, so it won’t impact my other potential business.

Nick they have specifically asked for two cameras, wireless lav, and room mike, and bounced lighting. Because these will be actual classes, here wouldn’t be any opportunity to see a sample shoot/edit. I certainly have ample samples they can see of two camera shoots with keynote speakers.

So the question is Grinner, they are bidding this out, so I can’t give them a price beyond their budget. How can I find out their budget? What kind of wording can I use for a cntigence plan?

    To trash preferences:

    1. Go to your Home directory then inside it to: Library > Preferences
    2. Drag com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist to the trash
    3. Scroll down to the Final Cut Pro User Data folder
    4. Drag Final Cut Pro Prefs to the trash
    5. Drag Final Cut Pro Obj Cache to the trash
    6. Drag Final Cut Pro Prof Cache to the trash
    7. Empty the trash

    Hope that helps. Happy Holidays

Are you sure that your log and capture window isn’t open? That may be the culprit.

    Hey Mark,

Put in on my tab … LOL. Since I just received a speeding ticket within the last hour, I’ve paid enough fines for the time being. Happy Holidays.

I always like sending clients the following:

A new hair salon opened up for business right across the street from the old established hair cutter’s place.

They put up a big bold sign which read:
    “WE GIVE SEVEN DOLLAR HAIRCUTS!”

Not to be outdone, the old Master Barber put up his own sign:
    “WE FIX SEVEN DOLLAR HAIRCUTS”
