I agree with Todd. We normally provide lunch. Depending on the start time, we may also provide donuts and coffee in the morning. Nothing special just Dunkin Donuts.

I also know that one of my DPs only drinks a specific brand of soda. So I always have some on hand for him. We also provide bottled water for crew, clients, and talent.

Hi Todd,

I would think that you’re looking at around $1,200 for a 1 hour recording. That usually get’s you a Spanish voice talent recording in their own studio. Of course pricing depends on how technical the wording is. Also will the voice talent need to edit the audio track for you?

Keep in mind that 1 hour of English could end up being 1:15 or more in Spanish, since it takes longer to say the same thing in Spanish.

Did you forget that we translate and dub videos as part of our business? I’d be happy to help you or your client

This was just an edit job, as they provided the script, images and footage. This next one falls into the same category.

Charging them for a new VO track and new music is a change in the scope, since I had to virtually re-edit the whole piece as far as moving things into position and cuting the newmusic to fit.

I’m just thinking about moving forward, so I don’t have to explain what a round of revisions constitutes. Typically if it’s something quick, I’ll just throw it in anyway, but I just want to state this correctly in my agreements.

Thanks Todd. I agree that’s my problem. It’s tough to define what a “round of revisions” is.
So what it I said something like this:

We include 2 rounds of minor revisions. Minor revisions are usually about 1 hour of editing time for each round of revisions. After that we charge $___ per hour.

By the way thanks for suggesting I speak with Don. He was a wealth of information and a good guy.

Hi Mark,

They were saying that the Pro-Res file size was too small.

Here’s what they wrote a: “your file and it looks great but does not meet the specs needed by our client. Not large enough for required ProRes.”

I don’t know how they’re viewing this, but I expect it’s a mac based system.
