My first thought was that they need the final in a low resolution with a widescreen effect but when I read “Crop” and “Squeeze” I fell off my editing chair. Sounds like a messy request. Let us know what happens.

I would say render/deliver in Progressive but like you said some stations require interlaced. Sometimes de interlacing will cause a jitter on faster motion when played back on stations that air in interlaced. So it’s a catch 22. But I would suggest final render Progressive based on what you told me. We have that same issue here all the time and sometimes the spot dictates what we deliver.

You don’t have to copy and paste into a new sequence. Just go to Sequence – Settings and change it there and it will update the timeline you have open. Then you wont experience any gaps in your footage.

Try changing your sequence settings back to 23.98 first. (Command+0) That should work for you and not effect the timeline.

Yes. 720 x480 is the amount of lines of resolution you have in that box. That resolution is also known as Standard Definition, SD, or 4×3.

Looks like they have 3 layers, your background layer, then your letter blocked layers which alternate back and fourth, I suggest you take the two tracks you want to switch from and put one on top of the other and use your blade tool on the top layer and cut out every couple fames and delete them leaving spaces in between that way when you play back it will have that effect.
Your going to have to do it manually with the blade tool
