    thanks guys interesting thread,

If anyone has any more info on the pros and cons of different NLE programs I’d be interesting in reading that 🙂

I’ve got CS4 on a PC and use premiere but I’ve used FCP quite a bit too,

Premiere seems to have a bad reputation for not being as good as others or at least being plagued with “annoying oversights”.

    Any thoughts?

Also I’d like to learn more about what premiere is doing with files and how to streamline my workflow so that I’m not using unnecessary disk space with obsolete renders etc,

Someone recommended at premiere tutorial above, if you have any more suggestions for gaining insight into the inner workings of premiere that would be appreciated,

    thanks

  • Thanks Vince 🙂

No rough cut 🙂 its just that I’ll be shooting in the area of college which is an hour away for me, I need to get the files from the HVX200 and as far as I’m aware you can’t just drag and drop files from the card but you have to log and transfer the clips? So when I return the camera I’d need to use the Macs closest to get the files and then hopefully transport those files back home to edit on my pc in Premiere.

unless I can drag and drop files from P2 that will work in premiere?

Vince Said: You will need the original “Contents” Folder (P2)

Either way Id need to use the camera to get access to the P2 cards…

you think the camera (panasonic HVX200 will write files to the P2 that I can use straight away?

Thanks for the reply btw, really appreciate it

    Grant 🙂
