Spike, I’m writing this because I really want you to make the most out of your TWIXTOR purchase. It’s a stunning product that produces great outcomes. From what I’ve read your workflow is counter-productive to what TWIXTOR can do for you. OK, that being said . . .

I do NOT film in a lower fps; capturing in a higher framerate is great; I do NOT Ctrl+Drag my Event and I most certainly do NOT get choppy TWIXTOR outcomes working in VegasPro15.

NB: Check you’ve got the rolled-up update for Version 6.2.10 – September 25, 2017. I’m running this.

If you are still applying Ctrl+Drag to your Event, on that lowered fps capture, all you are doing is slowing down your original FAST Motioned lower fps. Then why bother with TWIXTOR? I don’t understand your work flow? And I certainly don’t understand your comments relating to VegasPro15, which in my eyes, has to be the best VP ever! I love it. The GUI is almost perfect for my uses.

Let’s get going: Here’s what I do, you’ve got some of the process correct – but stand away from control+drag, yah don’t need it for TWIXTOR AND you’re missing the point of using TWIXTOR and not making good your purchase of TWIXTOR.

So, this is for 50% of the Speed:

1/- Right Click on your Event and create a subclip.

2/- Again Right Click on your Event > Properties > Disable Resampling.

3/- Just pull, do not Ctrl+Drag, the right hand edge of the Event until its length DOUBLES in size – you can see this easily when a single NOTCH appears on the top edge of the Event. If you were to go on pulling you’d get a second and more pulling a third and so on and so forth. But here just double the length, that’s ONE notch, because we’re doing 50% of original speed.

4/- Now add TWIXTOR FX and within TWIXTOR apply your parameters.

THAT’S ALL FOLKS!

To recap, and I don’t know your workflow, but from what I’ve read so far:

A] You DO NOT apply Ctrl+Drag – yuck . . . .

B] You most certainly DO NOT need to recapture doing your lower fps process (which gives you quicker preview clips at your projects set fps)

Look, doing 75%, 50%, 33% or even down to 25% I’m producing great SloMo using TWIXTOR – silky-smooth, low or even no discernibly obvious evidence of artifacts. I’m wanting the same same for you! If I need to go to lower percentiles I can always, and have done, create a DI with a SONY MXF and get busy with TWIXTOR again.

Now that I’ve been using it for some time, and recently I needed to go back to VP14, I wanted to get back into VP15 rather quickly. Why?

1/- Easy-On-The-Eye The look the new darker GUI. – Revelation!

2/- Selective Paste Event Attributes: If you’ve known the frustrations of having ALL the Params of the Source Media being transferred to the Target then this option to only carry-over that which you want – Revelation!

3/- The “Hamburger” Configurable visible button sets: Feeling cluttered on the Track Header or Event? I can now elect for the ones I want.

4/- Track grouping: The way it is now presented is far better – for me. Revelation!

5/- Stability, stability, stability : They’ve done something to improve this. Not such a revelation, more a case of well yes, Id expect stability.

6/- Expanding Tab Reveals: There’s now a small SQUARE Icon on the Tabs that when click widens the View of that Tab to across the whole Screen. Revelation!

7/- Freeze Frame at Cursor: Dead easy now. Revelation!

OK, each one taken separately for me it’s a “Neah – not so much“, but just these “7-EVEN”, taken as an aggregate and now seeing how these actual assists are available to me in getting to my Narrative, then yes, a revelation. I don’t know your workflow, and maybe these new small features aren’t a revelation enough for you – I wouldn’t know? What is something revealing is the drive VEGAS has of getting more control INTO the Preview Window. Who knows what this will bring in the future . . . .

Have you tried to match your Project Settings to the Media? Try that, and see if you can force a “match” then interrogate the Audio.

I can think of two reasons:

1) You don’t have the CODEC. Interrogate MediaInfo and see if the audio CODEC is apparent on your PC.

2) The wav is corrupt.

Can you play it on any player on your PC?

Interesting.

Yup. Been there done that got many a T shirt.

Firstly, interrogate your Vegas Temporary Folder. V puts your autosaves there. Anything you see you want to delete? Can you see an ancient UNDOs and REDOs? Secondly I change or update Project name/s as I go along: MyProject 1a ; MyProject 2a … etc etc.

I also have Edward Troxel’s Auto Save utility running. My bottom has been saved on numerous occasions with his script. I don’t even know it’s operating – till that time ????

Yeah, Software ain’t clever enough to deal with ALL our creative outpourings. Thank heavens. If Saving regularly isn’t getting you what you want, then employ strategies to over come it and then move on.
