Q1] Text Effect. What is a Text Effect? You have some extended Generated Media Text Events. You also have an FX on one of those Events. Are you referring to that? Or maybe you are referring to the Effect you’ve got within your Text Event: Colour; Positional; Bold; Shadow; Italic?

Q3] I can’t see the final outcome so I don’t know what and where this is OOS is happening. So where?

For me, you’re going to have to be more specific and detailed. I’ve been using VP for 14 years, and I don’t know at this point what you mean.

Are you sure that that footage is 50i? Did you “Match Media” for your Project Settings or manipulate the settings manually yourself?

How do I do ripple edit only on one track? My problem is I sometimes I need to cut video very quickly to go ontop of music. But when I splice, and cut, the ripple will also cut away at the separate audio track.

There’s a down arrow allowing you select just that.

2. Is there an easier way to do subtiles than to manually right mouse click and add text and then scroll down to my saved font and location and then start typing? Is there a way to just insert text and then start off of the default and not have to scroll down?

First part, no.

3. Is there a way to automatically disable resampling of the footage, so I don’t have to highlight everything and disable resample? (Sometimes I forget)

Could be a script for that?

4. Besides event pan/crop is there another way to do video in video- for example on YouTube end cards where I want the users to go on to the next video or videos. Right now, I’m manually doing it- dragging a clip or video into my timeline, finding the exact 15 seconds that I want to show, splicing it, and then event cropping it to size. This is taking too long because I have to randomly eyeball it.

5. Is there a way to preset how long a certain text is? For my watermark, I use two text inserts because the words have different colors. Is there an easier way than inserting them and dragging them out from their initial 5 second default?

Hmmm? Set up a MyName GenMed Event and use that.

Please do a test for me. Start a New Test Veg and attempt to import any of the media files on that external drive. Save. Close and reopen. If that works, close and reboot PC. Try and reopen the Test veg. What do you get?

I agree with John.

What I will add regarding why Sun is better than your light boxes is also white balance. The Sun will be full spectrum and your boxes probably not. You can check this using the Vegas scopes. Mixing Sun – daylight- and artificial light – your boxes – can be fraught. I have a great LED light but this has actual holes or gaps in the Spectrum and no amount of White Balance can correct it. What I’d need to do, to “improve” matters, is place a correctional Lee filter over the front. If your boxes have some means of balance correction, try that.

Simply put, mixing Sun and artificial is problematic. Doing CK work, with an even outcome, requires quite a controlled environment. But that doesn’t necessarily mean complicated. Mixing Sun and artificial light is complicated and, as you’ve discovered, most likely counter productive. I’ve used GREEN material and a steam iron to remove the wrinkles. The steam iron is a far better analogue solution than relying on mixed light sources!
